Project QA/QC

About the role

The Project QA/QC will have primary responsibility within FHG’s Major Projects Division to provide QA/QC for a single project location. This position will be a 100% travel position and report directly to the MP Operations Manager, with an indirect reporting relationship with the Construction Manager.

Responsibilities

Customer Project Requirements

• Review all customer specifications and project standards as relate to execution of FHG’s contracted scope
• Manage subcontractor QC efforts on the projects for their specific scopes of work
• Support Construction Manager and Safety Manager in General Contractor jobsite management efforts

Material Tracking & Inspection

• Material tracking (receipt, inventory, management and distribution of client materials and FHG sourced materials)
• Material Receiving and Incoming Inspection
• Non Conformance Reporting (NCR) on material/workmanship deficiencies
• Maintenance of MTR’s and associated documentation
• Manage domestic sourced material requirements on projects to ensure compliance
• Disbursement of materials to subcontractors and document accordingly
• Maintain project material log (PML)
• Work closely with MP Project Managers, Coordinators, and Engineers

Pressure Testing

• Manage Subcontractor QC personnel and processes to develop Test Packets compliant with Client requirements
• Manage Test Packet process flow and ensure that all documentation is collected for as-built/turnover documentation

Welding

• Manage Subcontractor’s welding efforts to include: Subcontractor Welding Procedures, Welder Qualifications
• Management of overall NDT, to include subcontractor NDT efforts, FHG subcontracted NDT, management of reader sheets and documentation and compliance with required NDT percentages
• Create/manage contractors Weld Maps, NDT Maps, Heat Maps, and weld logs

Concrete, Civil and Survey

• Manage Subcontractor Concrete quality control, testing, and documentation processes
• As needed manage concrete, civil and material testing subs scheduling, reports, NCR’s

Additional Responsibilities

• Capability to learn software for as built design/revisions (Bluebeam)
• Concrete and foundation inspection documentation (Concrete testing by third party)
• Coating inspection documentation
• Torque record documentation
• Audit and assist with maintaining equipment certifications
• Audit FHG and FHG subcontractor for quality issues. All unresolved issues to be handled through FHG Operations Manager
• Meet with client QA/QC team to serve as their primary point of contact
• Detailed understanding of FHG typical standards and policies

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Previous experience in a safety or QA/QC role

Qualifications

• Maintain electronic project files utilizing SharePoint
• Ability to work with local files and cloud storage
• Moderate/Intermediate Excel skills
• Ability to read plan and P&ID drawings
• Blue Beam (or other pdf editing software) experience
• Navisworks experience
• CAD experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a good multi-tasker
• A desire to build and manage processes
