About the role
Linde Engineering North America LLC is seeking a Project Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in Tonawanda, NY. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities, preparing requests for proposals, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Sales Kick-off meetings and initiate Procurement Kick-off meetings
- Audit and manage Procurement Risks during project execution
- Create and maintain the project vendor list and shipping schedule
- Develop and implement the Project Procurement Strategy
- Prepare, issue, and execute global inquiries and bid comparisons
- Create and control the monthly discipline report (MDR)
- Qualify alternative materials or sources and ensure financial and quality objectives are met
- Oversee the proposal process for assigned materials/services
- Administer manufacturing and global contracts according to contract terms
- Recommend and implement new processes to improve quality and on-time delivery
- Collect and communicate commercial lessons learned within Procurement and cross-functional teams
- Coordinate, control, and steer procurement activities within a virtual team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; MBA desirable
- 5-10 years' experience as a Commodity Manager or Project Manager in a global operating engineering company
- Experience with ERP business systems
- C.P.M. (NAPM Certified Purchasing Manager) and CPIM (APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certifications preferred
Qualifications
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business-related documents
- Strong financial analysis skills, including cost and price analysis, foreign currency impacts on material/service costs, and time value of money
Skills
- Understanding of accounting principles as applicable to procurement
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Ability to draw and interpret graphs
- Knowledge of the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct
Benefits
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 USD annually. Additional compensation may vary based on the position and organizational level.
