About the role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will primarily contribute to documentation, audit, and assurance work, while also being an active member of the wider team supporting across multiple workstreams as required. You will work flexibly across the team’s portfolio, contributing wherever needed to support the delivery of safe, high-quality care across the Trust.

You will be required to work full time Monday–Friday 8 am–4 pm (some flexibility can be discussed), based at St James’s University Hospital with cross-site working where required.

Responsibilities

• Detailed documentation and governance work
• Direct engagement with clinical areas and teams
• Clinical documentation, policies, and standards development
• Ward audits, safety checks, and assurance visits
• Analysis of quality metrics and performance data
• Patient safety initiatives (e.g., falls, Enhanced Therapeutic Observations and Care (ETOC), Clinical Support)
• Quality improvement and service redesign
• Support to clinical teams to address practice concerns and improve care
• Deliver education and training

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse or allied health professional with significant clinical experience and a passion for improving patient care through high-quality documentation, audit, and quality improvement.

• Effective communicator able to present complex information clearly
• Experience of clinical audit, standard setting, and service improvement
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities while working independently
• Strong documentation, report-writing, and governance skills
• Confidence in delivering education and training
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data analysis
• Proactive, adaptable, and patient-focused with the ability to influence practice and support change
