About the Role
A Project Manager in the telecommunications industry requires a blend of technical knowledge, strong project management skills, effective communication, and the ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced industry. The Project Manager – Wireless is responsible for project planning and coordination, risk management, budget management, and overall project performance.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop project plans and schedules.
- Allocate resources and monitor progress.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement risk management plans to minimize project disruptions.
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand requirements and expectations.
- Provide regular updates on project status and milestones.
- Estimate project costs and prepare budgets.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure projects stay within budget.
- Establish quality standards and ensure adherence.
- Conduct quality reviews and implement improvements as necessary.
- Lead and motivate project teams.
- Delegate tasks and monitor team performance.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Assess impacts and adjust plans accordingly.
- Maintain project documentation.
- Prepare regular progress reports and presentations.

Skills
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of telecommunications networks, technologies, and protocols. Familiarity with telecom equipment, software, and systems.
- Project Management Tools: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana). Experience with Gantt charts, Kanban boards, and other planning tools.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly identify issues and implement solutions.

Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. Common majors include:
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Business Administration with a focus on Project Management
- Master’s degree in project management, Telecommunications Management, or a related field (optional).

- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Certified Telecommunications Project Management (CTPM)

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of project management experience is strongly preferred, particularly in telecommunications, IT, or engineering.
- Deep understanding of telecommunications technologies, networks, and systems.
- Experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects.
- Budget management, resource allocation, and cost control experience.
- Additional Skills:
- Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is highly beneficial.
- Soft skills such as adaptability, resilience, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Engagement in industry networking and professional development.

Pay
Pay range in the United States: $60,000 - $90,000 based upon geography, skills, and experience. May also be eligible for performance incentive opportunity based on company and individual goals and performance.
