Summary Job Description

Kokosing's services include heavy civil/industrial construction such as highways, bridges, underground utilities, water/wastewater facilities, and marine construction.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
- Confer with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Reviews project proposal or plan to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of project.
- Reviews status reports from project personnel and modifies schedules/plans as needed.
- Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
- Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Covers project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors.
- Understands and is able to analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
- Makes sure construction is built safely, on schedule and within budget.
- Represents company in Owner progress meetings.
- Manages financial aspects of contracts and responsible for project profit or loss.
- Leads project team in daily field coordination meeting, weekly block schedule meeting and monthly safety kickoff meeting.
- Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Interviews/hires; trains; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards/disciplines; addresses complaints/resolves problems.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (PE credentialing is not required but is a strong plus).
- 7+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
- Open to other large construction experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
- Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills essential.
- Business oriented person.
- Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
