Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Construction

About the role

A well‑established heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. The Project Manager will take ownership of projects from preconstruction through final closeout while coordinating with owners, engineers, municipalities, field leadership, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, forecasts, job costs, and overall financial performance.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, pay applications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, municipalities, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Direct material procurement, equipment needs, deliveries, and project logistics.
• Lead progress meetings, client communication, project reporting, and risk management.
• Ensure safety, quality, production, and regulatory compliance.
• Work involving treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, process piping, concrete structures, and underground utilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction experience, preferably within water, wastewater, or heavy civil infrastructure.
• Proven project management experience on treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, underground utilities, or similar municipal projects.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, contracts, cost controls, and field operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Track record of completing projects safely, on schedule, and profitably.
