Project Manager, Water/Wastewater

About the role

Our Project Manager will support public and private sector water/wastewater clients in San Diego with challenging projects. The successful candidate will join a growing, well-funded, and stable team of water/wastewater engineers, designers, and drafters, contributing to technically sound and financially profitable projects in a highly visible leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in water-related projects such as water and sewer master plans, hydraulic modeling, pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, wells, lift stations, and treatment facility designs.
• Work as part of a project team, responsible for planning, design development, calculations, presentations, and overall project development.
• Interact with clients and position the company for upcoming projects.
• Lead business development activities, including networking, proposal preparation, pursuit strategy, and fee proposal development.
• Serve as an industry leader in organizations such as ASCE (Pipeline), APWA, and WateReuse.
• Actively participate in the water/wastewater group, collaborating with the larger office and regional team.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to staff.
• Perform project management duties, including invoicing and project budgeting.
• Prepare and oversee design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
• Lead technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems.
• Prepare and review technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
• Assist in proposal efforts during the procurement of key projects.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project team members, including cost estimators, GIS specialists, designers, and other engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on environmental and/or water resources engineering, or a related engineering field. Advanced technical and management education preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in design and calculations supporting pipelines, pump stations, wastewater treatment, and reservoirs.
• Highly motivated self-starter, versatile, and interested in working on a variety of water/wastewater projects.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in California. Additional state registrations are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience preparing hydraulic modeling of water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pay

The approximate compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000 per year. Actual compensation depends on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, and skillset.
