Project Manager (Water / Wastewater)

About the role

The US East Water business of GHD is expanding and seeks a Project Manager to join the team in Harrisburg, PA. This role involves spearheading investigations, design development, and project execution for water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection systems throughout the state. Key responsibilities include overseeing multi-disciplinary treatment facility designs, conducting alternatives analyses and economic evaluations, and managing collection and distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead investigations, design development, and project execution for water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection systems.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary treatment facility designs, conduct alternatives analyses and economic evaluations.
• Manage collection and distribution projects—including linear and pumping systems.
• Lead treatability studies such as bench testing and pilot plant evaluations.
• Contribute to financial and operational reviews.
• Manage team performance, utilization, and engagement.
• Mentor emerging professionals and collaborate with senior business leaders to drive positive outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in PA or ability to acquire it.
• At least 6 years of relevant water engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water regulations including wastewater treatment and conveyance, surface water treatment, lead and copper and disinfection byproduct rules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
• Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed.
