About the role
The US East Water business of GHD is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. This role involves leading multi-disciplinary teams through the planning, design, and construction of critical water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects in the DC Metro Area.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams through the planning, design, and construction of critical water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review technical deliverables such as reports, specifications, plans, and cost estimates, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory standards.
- Manage project budgets and schedules, perform design calculations and alternative analyses, and troubleshoot system operations to deliver practical, high-quality solutions for clients.
- Support proposal development, engage in marketing initiatives, and help identify new opportunities within the DC Metro water and wastewater market.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment by mentoring junior staff, promoting knowledge sharing, and championing professional development.
- Shape infrastructure projects and influence the continued growth and success of our regional practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia (in Maryland and/or Washington DC is a plus).
- At least 10-12 years of municipal water and wastewater experience, including experience in Virginia and Maryland.
- Experience in water and wastewater planning, design, permitting, and construction, including water distribution systems, booster pump stations, wastewater collection systems, pump stations and force mains.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical staff.
- Stormwater system design and permitting is a plus.
