About the Role

Manage (or support a Principal or Senior Project Manager with the management of) transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and/or information technology projects involving cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines and operating areas, including contract resources. Responsible for managing or supporting the project's scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance for multiple projects and programs with budgets typically ranging from $250K to $5 million. This position may require extended hours during storms or energy delivery emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support overall project and program performance for transmission, substation, distribution, gas, information technology, and organizational initiatives.
• Ensure project costs, schedule, scope, and risks are managed, including developing recovery plans to stay within approved limits.
• Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements and form effective working relationships with team members, line managers, and contract service providers.
• Serve as the primary communicator with sponsors and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive-level and interdepartmental presentations (when leading projects). When supporting larger projects, provide the project lead with necessary information.
• Coach and lead team members to ensure understanding of responsibilities and completion of assigned tasks.
• Identify and obtain project team resources with assistance from the Manager, Project Management (when leading projects). When supporting larger projects, help ensure all team resources are identified and obtained.
• Oversee tasks such as business case completion, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, requirements engineering, design and engineering, vegetation management reviews, project reporting, financial analysis, equipment procurement, environmental analysis, real estate acquisition, and relationship management with external customers, vendors, agencies, and regulatory bodies.
• Interact routinely with key stakeholders, including senior management, customers, governmental and regulatory officials.

Requirements

• For construction project management: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 2–4 years of relevant project management experience, OR High School Diploma and 3–6 years of relevant project management experience.
• For non-construction project management: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field and 2–4 years of relevant project management experience, OR High School Diploma and 3–6 years of relevant project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as a team leader, handling conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies, including technology and performance improvements.
• Strong judgment, time management, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project) and Passport.
• Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in utility design, planning, construction, or information technology.
• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects.
• Understanding of job budgeting, costing, and performance metrics reporting.

Pay

Annual salary range: $83,200 – $114,400, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible positions include a 10% annual bonus.
