Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution- Michels Power, Inc.
Key Responsibilities
Lead projects through estimating, bidding, execution, and closeout phases
Manage transmission, distribution, and substation construction activities
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, field leadership, and internal project teams
Develop and maintain strong client and utility relationships
Track and manage project costs, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics
Support project planning for:
Transmission line construction (structures, conductor, ROW)
Distribution system upgrades (OH/UG)
Substation scopes as applicable

What It Takes
- 1–7+ years of experience in construction project management within transmission, distribution, utility, or electrical infrastructure projects (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Proven experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, and field execution
- Strong knowledge of T&D construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with project management / scheduling software (Primavera P6, HCSS, MS Project, or similar)
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel and support long‑term, onsite project assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with utility clients, co‑ops, or EPC transmission projects
- Background in overhead transmission (HOLT), underground distribution, or substation integration
- Experience managing multi‑discipline power delivery projects
- Familiarity with ERCOT, MISO, or other regional transmission environments
