About the role

The Project Manager - Telecom Installation & Commissioning supervises and directs the installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications network infrastructure across operational and industrial environments, including outside plant (OSP), inside plant (ISP), and network equipment deployments. This role manages project tasks, personnel, and requirements to ensure safe, organized, and efficient execution within active operational networks, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure sites. The position requires a detail-oriented and performance-driven approach to synchronize all project elements and ensure successful completion.

Responsibilities

• Determine and define project scope, objectives, and plan and direct resources to ensure successful completion
• Review network and installation designs
• Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner
• Facilitate communications between office and field personnel
• Problem-solve issues and ensure continuous improvement
• Organize, file, and maintain all current project documents
• Enter information and manage the digital project databases
• Ensure compliance to customer network specifications, industry standards, and commissioning/acceptance test requirements
• Coordinate and execute daily administrative tasks, including processing timecards, vehicle and equipment assignments, work-in-progress reports (WIPs), and invoices
• Schedule and confirm deliveries to field staff
• Ensure projects adhere to schedules and meet client goals
• Schedule meetings, phone calls, site visits, and other communications
• Consult with and gather information from technicians, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Predict and manage resources needed to reach objectives efficiently
• Coordinate installation, splicing, testing, and commissioning systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of project management experience in telecommunications network installation, commissioning, or industrial construction environments preferred
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively
• Strong familiarity with market, industry, project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
• Proven ability to manage projects through the full life cycle
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
• Proven ability to complete projects according to scope, budget, and timeline
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of general accounting and costing practices, including budgeting, invoicing, purchase orders, and accounts payable
• Able to work independently and in team environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to compute basic math calculations and take measurements
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Visio
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects effectively
• Adaptable and calm under pressure
• Working knowledge of telecom network commissioning and test procedures and associated test equipment (e.g., OTDR, power meters, cable/network testers)
• Comfortable working in operational telecom networks and industrial environments, with an understanding of related safety practices (e.g., lockout/tagout, confined space, arc flash, PPE requirements)
