Project Manager – Supply Chain and Ancillary Services

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle for assigned initiatives, including intake, charter development, scope definition, planning, governance, execution, implementation, sustainment, and closeout.
  • Create, manage, and execute project scope, schedules, resource plans, budgets, milestones, deliverables, metrics, and change management activities.
  • Develop project charters, workplans, communication plans, governance structures, stakeholder maps, risk/issue logs, decision logs, and executive-level status reports.
  • Clearly, concisely, and professionally communicate project plans, progress, risks, decisions, business goals, and governance expectations to project teams, operational leaders, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Identify, escalate, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, constraints, and opportunities proactively, recommending mitigation strategies and decision options.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, finance, technology, supply chain, ancillary services, and vendor partners to align project activities with operational priorities and patient-care needs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, readiness reviews, implementation planning sessions, process mapping sessions, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, within budget expectations, and aligned with quality, safety, service, compliance, and operational performance goals.
  • Analyze and interpret data, workflows, processes, systems, and performance trends to develop recommendations, business cases, action plans, and measurable improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain and improve project management methodologies, tools, templates, dashboards, and common practices to strengthen consistency, transparency, and effectiveness across projects.
  • Partner with leaders to monitor project benefit realization, including operational KPIs, service levels, process efficiency, supply availability, cost savings, risk reduction, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Coordinate vendor activities, implementation tasks, timelines, deliverables, and issue resolution for projects involving external partners or technology solutions.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement action plans to resolve project barriers and ensure successful completion of assigned projects within specified timeframes.
  • Provide functional direction, coaching, onboarding support, and day-to-day work coordination for project coordinators, analysts, or assigned project team members.
  • Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth and promote continued skill development in project management, process improvement, and healthcare operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects, operational initiatives, process improvement efforts, or cross-functional workstreams in healthcare, supply chain, logistics, ancillary services, hospital operations, or a comparable complex service environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, health administration, supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations management, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean Six Sigma, Certified Healthcare Operations Professional, or equivalent project/process improvement certification.
  • Healthcare operations, supply chain, logistics, procedural services, ambulatory operations, pharmacy, laboratory, facilities, or ancillary services project experience.
  • Experience leading system-level or multi-site operational projects, technology implementations, workflow redesigns, new facility activations, or service expansion initiatives.
  • Experience with project governance, executive reporting, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and change adoption.
  • Experience providing functional direction, coaching, or supervision to project coordinators, analysts, or cross-functional project team members.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of project management practices, including project charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, resource plans, risks/issues logs, governance routines, and status reporting.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, Teams, SharePoint, or comparable platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor operational metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and project benefit realization plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, processes, workflows, and systems to identify root causes, risks, opportunities, and measurable improvement actions.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, relationship management, and influencing skills with the ability to align clinical, operational, finance, technology, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate project status, decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly to frontline teams, managers, directors, and senior leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and maintain progress despite ambiguity, resource constraints, and operational disruption.
  • Ability to build trust, support adoption, and lead change across departments and locations while maintaining a customer-service and patient-care orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead collaborative, cross-functional project teams and provide functional direction to project coordinators, analysts, or assigned team members.
