About the role

The Superintendent/PM is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of on-site construction activities for industrial projects. This leadership role involves managing construction teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and success criteria.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Coverage subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Create and manage project budgets, monitor, and control project costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage change orders as necessary.
  • Scheduling and Timeline Management: Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
  • Maintain project progress and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and permits.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards by inspecting work in progress and completed projects.
  • Address and resolve any construction-related issues, defects, or discrepancies.
  • Ensure that construction work meets or exceeds quality expectations.
  • Materials and Equipment: Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials and equipment.
  • Manage inventory and ensure the availability of necessary resources.
  • Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of construction equipment.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project budgets and control expenses to meet financial objectives.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
  • Report on cost performance and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on-site.
  • Provide regular project updates and address client inquiries and concerns.
  • Foster positive client relationships and enhance the company's reputation.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Generate and submit project-related reports to project management.
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete and well organized.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in industrial construction or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety protocols, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and project scheduling tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic construction environment.
