Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural steel projects from contract award through final closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
- Cook up with fabrication teams, detailers, field superintendents, subcontractors, and clients
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships throughout execution
- Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents
- Monitor project progress, manpower planning, logistics, quality, and safety performance
- Manage procurement activities and support subcontractor/vendor negotiations
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively to maintain schedule and profitability
- Oversee project documentation, billing support, and final turnover
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing structural steel fabrication and/or erection projects
- A strong understanding of structural steel construction methods, sequencing, and field operations
- The ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience with scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and change management
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Experience
- Experience with commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy structural steel projects
- Familiarity with AISC standards and structural steel industry best practices
- Previous experience working for a structural steel fabricator and/or erector
- Exposure to detailing, fabrication workflows, or shop coordination is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- $115,000–$140,000 DOE + bonus potential
