Project Manager, Solar Independent Engineering
About the role
Initiate and coordinate the technical review process among internal specialists including civil and electrical engineering, energy assessment, technology, and permitting teams, and synthesizing and writing due diligence reports.
Perform overall project management activities and ensure excellent customer communication as the key point of contact for the execution of due diligence engagements.
Perform portions of due diligence reviews, including contract and financial model reviews, and synthesis of inputs from technical disciplines, as well as other reviews and analysis within your expertise.
Discuss and resolve technical issues with project developers, lenders, and investors, including coordinating input on such issues from internal technical specialists.
Develop and win proposals for scopes of services related to due diligence work.
Coordinate or perform DNV construction monitoring and site visit activities.
Support customers through the financial closings of projects.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts including leading tool development, process refinement, digitization efforts, and lessons learned activities.
Advance team and industry thought leadership.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, energy, or other related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the solar industry.
- Deft project and time management skills, including an ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Fluent in MS Office.
- Solution oriented thinking skills and high integrity.
- Understanding of energy industry technology (modules, inverters, mounting systems/trackers, balance of system, etc.).
- Supportive, resilient, flexible and proactive team member, eager to work in a collaborative environment.
- Pristine HSE mindset and demonstrated behavior-based safety mentality.
- Possesses a digitally curious mindset and has knowledge in AI, automation and digital tools, with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement activities.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree Some concentration of experience in at least one of the following: solar industry construction and operating contracts, solar project construction, operations/asset management, solar project design/development, module/inverter technology, energy assessment, power marketing/offtake contracting, energy storage technology and implementation, market research/policy, or in the independent engineering function.
- Exposure to contracts (construction, supply, operations, interconnection, offtake, subscription, and/or asset management contracts).
- Familiarity with budgets and financial models.
- Working knowledge of PVsyst and solar energy assessment.
- Working knowledge of the solar project financing process (direct experience preferred).
- Project management designation.
- Familiarity with energy storage systems.

Pay
- Starting pay range for this role is $85,000 - $140,000.
Schedule
- Dynamiic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site.
