About the role

The Kleinfelder Power Market team is seeking a flex time, remote candidate to manage senior level environmental permitting, project management, and leadership for agency process requirements and assessment/feasibility studies for renewable development projects, transmission line development, and generation source development from inception to in-service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance relationships with current clients to ensure high-quality and compliant deliverables are produced.
  • Establish and maintain standards, processes, and procedures that ensure a high level of project quality and targeted profitability is maintained on projects.
  • Manage and lead environmental permitting and project management activities for renewable energy projects.
  • Interpret and apply environmental policies and regulations to assess feasibility and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including communities and regulatory bodies, to address environmental concerns and facilitate project approvals.
  • Document regulatory requirements and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project design and implementation.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of project management experience, preferably in the utility sector with agency oversight.
  • A Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences/Policy, or Land Use Planning.
  • Experience in environmental policy interpretation, environmental process management, renewable energy permitting, mitigation development, natural resource management, and stakeholder outreach.
  • A professional approach to represent the company in all settings.
  • Successful experience supporting and growing revenues in utility markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results on challenging projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental management across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
