About the role
The Project Manager (PM) oversees the administration, organization, and execution of designated projects/contracts. They ensure that project goals and customer expectations are met within the prescribed timeframe and budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer expectations on deliverables.
- Represent the Contractor during progress meetings, design review meetings, contract negotiations, and open item meetings.
- Develop and monitor the project budget, costs, and job estimates, schedule, and plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, risk assessment, contingency plans, and allotment of resources for each phase of the project.
- Oversee the development of daily, weekly, monthly and annual performance monitoring including the development of corrective actions plans and direct input into monthly invoicing and subcontract resolution of payments.
- Develop and mentor personnel such as Project staff to prepare them for future professional growth.
- Manage contracts/project activity and status to ensure compliance with internal and external project and contractual obligations.
- Provide technical advice, direction, and assistance to project personnel.
- Oversee the efforts of project subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Engineering Degree, PE preferred.
- Five (5) years or more of progressive supervisory and management experience.
- Ten (10) years of progressive direct experience can substitute for a B.S. degree.
- Understanding the practical applications of engineering science and technology.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Computer skills (MS Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems).
- Experience in Education facilities preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience in management and execution of large, integrated system projects.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the project/contract agreement.
- Ability to work in a 24/7/365 environment.
- Ability to think quickly and clearly in support of project requirements.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work in the field at the site of ongoing projects, as needed to meet project or program goals.
