What You’ll Do on a Typical Day
- Establish realistic goals and implement action plans for achieving set objectives for new business implementations
- Guide and direct project team members to ensure compliance with set standards, procedures and guidelines
- Ensure availability of financial, material and human resources required to complete a project successfully
- Evaluate progress to detect limitations or faults to seek solutions to a more efficient process
- Develop internal/external communication strategies useful in ensuring communication between various departments of the organization and clients
- Use specialized tools and techniques to delegate and ensure even distribution of tasks to project team members
- Participate in educational programs to update job knowledge and expand personal network
- Motivate team members to meet project goals by effectively carrying out their responsibilities
- Offer effective solutions to meet set targets and satisfy client requirements
- Manage every aspect of projects, including planning, communication, risk assessment and resources.
- Create a collaborative, enjoyable work environment that is conducive to effective creative thinking
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Must possess a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or passport to comply with federal travel regulations.
- Familiarity and ability to comply with TSA security procedures.
- Ability to travel domestically via road, rail and air as required for the role and pursuant to Company travel and expense requirements.
What You Need to Succeed at GXO
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field or equivalent related work or military experience
- 1 year of experience in operations, preferably in manufacturing or logistics
- Lean or Six Sigma experience
- Project management experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
It’d be great if you also have:
- Certification(s) such as PMP, Agile or Six Sigma
- Experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of professional services economics
- Experience with change management processes
- Availability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
- Experience in staff management and development, including solid track record of mentoring Project Managers
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
