Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and implementation of municipal roadway projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on roadway design, including geometric design, pavement design, drainage, and traffic control plans.
  • Utilize advanced design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) to develop detailed engineering plans and specifications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring exceptional client service.
  • Communicate project progress, address client concerns, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, CAD designers, and construction inspectors.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation for regulatory approvals and permits.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of design plans and documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of project delivery.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in roadway design and project management, with a focus on municipal roadway projects.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard design software such as Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in roadway engineering.

Pay

$145,000 - $175,000
