PROJECT MANAGER - RENEWABLES
Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, with electric rates among the lowest in the nation. Our mission is to power the quality of life for 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri, covering 64 counties and over 500 communities, including the greater St. Louis area.
About the Role
The Renewables Project Manager leads the largest and most complex projects and/or portfolios of small projects, involving large project teams, high levels of complexity and risk, with significant strategic importance to Ameren. This role supports, oversees, and executes Build Transfer Agreement contracts, development transfers, self-developed projects, and Notice to Proceed contracts for Renewables projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage. The successful candidate’s job title classification and career band will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Obtain complete project scope definition and communicate it to team members.
- Manage scope, budget, and schedule of large and/or highly complex projects or portfolios of smaller projects; mentor others on project management methodology to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Lead the project team in planning and organizing project logistics, problem-solving, and processes to drive team velocity and ensure full engagement and successful delivery.
- Develop and manage project budgets for the most complex projects or portfolios, review and approve invoices, vendor proposals, and scope revisions.
- Develop project forecasts and revise budgets as needed.
- Apply organizational and leadership skills to ensure internal and external resources collaborate effectively to meet project objectives.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate transparency and adaptation, and communicate how projects drive business value.
- Lead the development of contracting strategies that maximize value to Ameren’s customers and proactively manage contracts to ensure vendor compliance.
- Create, deliver, and implement project change approaches, strategies, and plans, including change management activities to ensure stakeholder and user engagement; mentor team members and peers in change management roles.
- Demonstrate leadership, coaching, and guidance for project activities, mentoring project managers at P1, P2, and P3 levels.
- Drive results through informal and servant leadership methods.
- Actively participate in commercial discussions and negotiations with third-party developers, EPCs, and contractors for Build Transfer, Development Transfer, and Self-Developed Ameren Renewables Projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Seven or more years of relevant experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, or project accounting with cost management systems to support project budget, forecast, and spend.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Complete understanding of project management techniques and skills.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Primavera, Primavera Analytics, Maximo, PowerPlan, Oracle BI, Unifier).
- Proficiency in change management strategies, project planning principles, resource planning, vendor management, cost controls, project analytics, schedule development, risk management, contracting strategies, project lifecycle, stakeholder management, and project accounting.
- Ability to develop sufficient technical understanding of projects to effectively manage technical teams and establish credibility.

Pay
Compensation range: $131,900.00 - $204,400.00. Base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package, with additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance. Factors considered in determining base salary include skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity.
