Project Manager (Ready Mix Concrete)

About the role
The Project Manager supervises mix batch plant operations, including sales, customer satisfaction, quality control, staffing, batching ready mix, driver supervision, and production management. Responsible for employee morale, discipline, driver and customer relations, meeting deadlines, and overall financial performance for assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Enforce company safety rules and conduct safety meetings, including toolbox talks; ensure facilities operate safely.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and work rules; discipline when necessary and document employee performance issues.
- Oversee large-scale projects to ensure deadlines are met, staffing is efficient, and budgets are adhered to.
- Support the plant manager in batching operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DEP, and other regulations.
- Oversee customer experience, develop customer relationships, and maintain strong communication throughout projects.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Manage cost responsibility at assigned locations; strive to lower costs and increase productivity through efficiency and innovation.
- Conduct various meetings as directed by management.
- Manage jobsite quality control testing and utilize personnel to complete submittal processes within given timeframes.
- Conduct weekly forecasts and maintain accurate inventory control.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home, nights, and weekends when required.
- Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements, company policies, and procedures.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Maintain timely and regular attendance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Develop subordinates’ technical and leadership skills; recommend new job opportunities when appropriate.
- Manage employee performance through coaching, feedback (written and verbal), rewards, and discipline when necessary.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ACI Level 1 Field Certification.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
