Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all trades in the field within each discipline, including organization, planning, and scheduling to complete work on time, within budget, and to quality specified.

  • Protect and promote the interest of Mckissack and the Owner in all MEP matters and take actions as required to satisfy responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop onsite plans and procedures for implementation including quality control efforts.
    • Develop quality control procedures and requirements within project documents.
    • Ensure work is performed as specified on drawings and specs.
    • Plan and review construction programs with the General Superintendent.
    • Set up project MEP requirements for temporary construction services.
    • Examine MEP drawings and specifications for design deficiencies, impractical details, and constructability issues.
    • Schedule and expedite delivery of MEP materials and equipment furnished by the Contractor and subcontractors.
    • Coordinate and direct daily activities of subcontractors, labor, and material.
    • Coordinate and direct activities of inspection agencies and effect remedial actions indicated by their reports.
    • Keep the General Superintendent informed of changes made in the field and properly authorize, validate, and process all documents involving changes.
    • Review and approve monthly estimates of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and all other disbursements.
    • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures for electrical work. Report all unsafe activities to the client and Project Director.
    • Inspect MEP material and equipment at factory and in field as required to enforce plans, specs, and material procurement requirements. Attend and witness factory and field tests and provide written reports of same.
    • Review and comment on shop drawings and field sketches for MEP work at site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction-related field.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with large numbers of people to ensure successful project execution.
  • 7+ years of experience in all phases of construction, including management of MEP trades.
  • Experience with Procore or Planner System, and Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing MEP scopes on commercial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems installation and coordination.
  • Proven leadership ability across both field and office teams.
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, change management, and cost control practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project environments.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Pay

  • MEP Superintendent: Salary Range: $230,000 – $250,000

  • Program QA/Technical Standards Project Lead: Salary Range: $215,000 – $220,000

  • MEP Senior Project Manager: Salary Range: $200,000 – $215,000

  • Project Manager: Salary Range: $140,000 – $150,000
