Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and oversee quality assurance and process evaluation programs for solar modules, balance of systems (BOS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and related raw materials.
- Lead inspections, audits, and production monitoring activities to ensure compliance with industry standards, technical requirements, and client specifications.
- Direct and review testing programs for bill of materials (BOM) components and finished solar modules, with a focus on process optimization, performance degradation analysis, and reliability improvement.
- Plan and coordinate testing of materials, modules, and BESS, as well as factory audits, factory acceptance tests, and equipment evaluations.
- Analyze inspection and testing results, perform root-cause and failure analysis for materials, modules, and BESS, and provide technical feedback and corrective-action recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Develop, review, and provide technical input for documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), control plans, and work instructions to ensure consistent process execution, product quality, and manufacturability.
- Mentor engineers and inspectors in quality assurance and process improvement activities.
- Provide technical advisory and guidance to clients and manufacturing personnel.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new quality standards, testing methodologies, and process controls for emerging photovoltaic and energy storage technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Sciences, Materials Engineering, manufacturing operations, physics, chemistry, or related field.
- 60 months of experience as a Process Engineer, Materials Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or closely related job title with experience in manufacturing controls, process validation, troubleshooting manufacturing process and quality issues.
- Experience performing factory tests, material qualification, equipment evaluation, factory audits, and technical writing.
- 50% domestic travel required.
Pay
$160,139.00/yr.
