About the role

Performs professional project management work in the planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout of public works capital improvement projects, including streets, water, stormwater, wastewater, and related infrastructure. Serves as the primary project manager for assigned City projects, ensuring compliance with applicable funding sources, regulations, and City standards. Also coordinates the review and approval process for private development projects to ensure conformance with City engineering requirements and facilitates pre-construction and permitting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, bid, construct, and close out public works capital improvement projects (streets, water, stormwater, wastewater, and related infrastructure).
  • Serve as primary project manager for assigned City projects, ensuring compliance with funding sources, regulations, and City standards.
  • Coordinate review and approval of private development projects to ensure conformance with City engineering requirements.
  • Facilitate pre-construction and permitting activities.

Requirements

  • Five years of increasingly responsible project management experience on public works projects.
  • Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Project Management Certification is preferred for applicants without a college degree.
  • Experience managing local agency public works projects with state or federal funding is preferred.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Pay

$7,102 - $8,699/month.
