Project Manager - Process Piping

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency, is seeking a Project Manager - Process Piping to join our Client's team.

About the role

The Project Manager is expected to develop and maintain a client base, manage HVAC/plumbing/process sales, and coordinate the field labor needs for each project in conjunction with field leadership. The role requires judgment and discretion in representing the company, with a high level of commitment and involvement in work and the company’s business.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single-source responsibility to the client and customer, performing all project management functions to promote and finalize sales, including concept engineering, complete estimates, written proposals, and meetings leading to successful job completion.
• Manage contracts, including sales, estimating, procurement, and execution.
• Coordinate field labor and installation sequencing between the customer and client field leadership.
• Understand financial aspects of the job, including forecasting, budget projections, and cost control within agreed-upon limits.
• Prepare business documents such as letters, proposals, memos, contracts, change orders, and strategies for legal protection and good business procedures.
• Handle billing while maintaining a clear understanding of job costs.
• Build and manage relationships with internal and external customers.
• Lead client meetings and develop contracts to finalize sales while maintaining cordial relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners.
• Provide project coordination, leadership, and guidance to all client departmental efforts, including Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service during project construction.
• Contribute to special studies, committees, or initiatives to advance clients' technical abilities in engineering, planning, estimating, and installation procedures.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, consulting with management and department heads as needed.
• Attend all project management, sales, and construction meetings.
• Schedule and coordinate construction project kickoff meetings with department heads and supervisors.
• Utilize internal resources to meet customer requirements and coordinate staff from all departments as needed for each project.
• Provide project leadership and coordinate employees assigned to the project to achieve the project vision and contracted scope.
• Mentor others as assigned and actively participate in recruiting, training, and coaching sales staff to support department initiatives and growth.
• Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by supervisors or upper management.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in estimating, design, and/or management of HVAC projects ranging from $50,000 to $25+ million.
• Ability to operate independently and autonomously to facilitate goals outlined by supervisors.
• Demonstrated high sense of integrity and experience in developing new business.
• Strong interpersonal and project management abilities, with organizational skills to respond to a high volume of issues.
• Maintain a community presence in an industry-based or community-based organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience preferred in business systems software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet, etc.).
