Responsibilities

  • Review superintendents' performance and make formal evaluations.
  • Make education and training recommendations for the superintendents and all other field personnel.
  • Promote development of leadership skills of all project managers and foreman.
  • In charge of construction operations, including utilization of company's crews, and equipment.
  • See that company's tools and equipment are not abused or lost carelessly.
  • Advise and assist Division Manager in hiring, training, directing, reviewing, and terminating salaried persons.
  • Makes sure hiring, disciplining, and terminating field equipment operators and laborers.
  • Works directly with the Division Manager to develop, communicate, and enforce personnel policies.
  • Safeguards the company's Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Policy.
  • Affirms that the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise commitments made by the company are met.
  • Aids in the development of company safety policy and rules.
  • Ensures they are carried out in the field.
  • Requires and monitors the folding of weekly safety meetings.
  • Ensures that accident reports are promptly completed.
  • Coordinates flow of quantities and information between field and accounting department to ensure that company is promptly paid for work completed.
  • Coordinates field quality control.
  • Maintains subcontractor relations, and coordinates subcontractors.
  • Maintains working relationship with owners/engineers.
  • Establishes long-term production goals and monitors subordinates' weekly production goals.
  • Maintains equipment hours and utilization.
  • Ensures compliance with all documentation procedures.
  • Maintains working relationship with company estimators.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Project Manager on Highway, Road, and Bridge projects.
  • 5+ years’ experience working on TxDOT projects.
  • Ability to innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred, but not necessary.
