Project Manager - Power Distribution
About the role
We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our PMO's Systems Group. This role is hybrid (remote/office mix) based in Wendell, NC. You’ll manage customer-facing projects in a fast-paced environment, balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder expectations. The PM will lead complex, high-impact projects from initiation through closeout, working within a matrixed organization and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver medium-voltage power distribution solutions, photovoltaic inverter projects, and automation-focused systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of assigned projects—from planning to execution and final closeout.
- Own project cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance.
- Define project milestones and ensure alignment with master plans and timelines.
- Communicate expectations, updates, risks, and progress clearly to team members, leadership, and customers.
- Provide routine status reports covering scope, budget, schedule, and performance.
- Identify project risks or issues and drive effective solutions (including resource allocation or contract adjustments).
- Handle customer expectations throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Lead single- and multi-product medium-voltage solutions projects.
- Conduct diagnostics to resolve root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4+ years of project management experience in the power distribution industry, focusing on medium- or high-voltage equipment/switchgear.
- Ability to travel up to 20%, both domestically and internationally.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results and present recommendations to senior management and customers.
- Proven leadership experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (program management, engineering, services, operations, logistics).
- Demonstrated success driving and running projects in competitive technical markets.
- Experience implementing cost-saving measures within projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information to varied audiences.
- Experience in contract management and change management.
- PMP certification (or willingness to obtain within one year of hire).

Pay
$74,970 – $128,520
