About the role

The Project Manager contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its fabrication customers by supporting the project team during the planning, budgeting, fabrication, and post-fabrication project phases. This role ensures projects meet CR Meyer’s safety guidelines, quality standards, schedule, and budget requirements while collaborating with heavy industrial/manufacturing customers and the CR Meyer Design/Build team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing bids for customers using fabrication principles and design specifications.
  • Participate in implementing the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan and maintain a safe shop environment.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and schedules for project execution.
  • Prepare POs for project-related expenses, track labor hours, process expense sheets, and prepare invoicing.
  • Track and maintain subcontracts and vendor information.
  • Coordinate the movement of equipment, tools, supplies, and other resources needed to complete the job.
  • Track productivity factors and document them for future reference.
  • Maintain open communication with the project team and act as a backup to the Project Manager when needed.
  • Provide periodic updates and communicate with customers, project teams, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay within specifications, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist in implementing QA/QC standards and “means and methods engineering” procedures.
  • Use CR Meyer-provided software to prepare required documents and project management updates.
  • Participate in project close-out meetings and document completed projects for future reference.
  • Wear assigned PPE and observe all CR Meyer safety guidelines.
  • Complete all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Represent the CR Meyer brand professionally at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of experience in estimating and managing heavy industrial construction projects, with an emphasis on equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and Primavera.
  • Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines, including First Aid/CPR Certification, OSHA 30, and SafeStart.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable driving history, and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and courteously.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States.
