Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery- Plan, execute, and close projects across engineering, construction, or energy transition portfolios
- Ensure delivery within scope, schedule, and cost targets
- Planning & Scheduling- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and schedules
- Track progress and adjust plans to meet changing project needs
- Budget & Cost Control- Manage CAPEX budgets and forecasts
- Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with financial targets
- Stakeholder Management- Interface with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, regulators, and partners
- Risk Management- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Implement contingency plans to maintain delivery objectives
- HSSE Compliance- Ensure adherence to bp’s health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities
- Reporting & Governance- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project performance
- Maintain project documentation and governance controls
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- 5–10+ years of project management experience (energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale capital projects
- Strong knowledge of project controls (cost, schedule, risk)
- Experience with tools such as ECOSYS, Primavera P6, SAP, or similar systems
- Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, APM, or similar certification
- Experience in low-carbon projects
- Familiarity with contracting strategies and supply chain management
