Project Manager | Municipal Projects

About the role

Our client is a well-established, family-owned General Contractor that has been shaping communities throughout the Minnesota area for more than 50 years. With an exceptional reputation for quality, integrity, and long-term client partnerships, they specialize in delivering complex public construction projects for municipalities, park districts, government agencies, public safety facilities, transportation authorities, and educational institutions. Due to continued growth in their municipal division, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead public construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple municipal construction projects from preconstruction through project completion.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractor buyout, and procurement activities.
• Coordinate with municipal owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and public officials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contract administration, and project documentation.
• Monitor project financial performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Partner with field leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with public-sector clients to support repeat business opportunities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
• Proven experience delivering municipal or other public-sector construction projects.
• Experience working with municipalities, park districts, government agencies, or other public owners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of public bidding procedures, contract administration, and project financial management.
