Project Manager – Municipal Engineer
Primary Function
The Municipal Engineer is a professional with 7+ years of experience. This individual will design, manage and/or represent a variety of infrastructure projects (owned by municipalities and local school districts).
Primary Duties
- Responsible for acting as the client manager to one or more municipalities or other public agencies.
- Act as the single point of contact between the firm and the client.
- Supervise and coordinate all projects performed in the firm on behalf of the client, to the client’s satisfaction.
- Develop or implement engineering solutions to assist clients with improving and maintaining their infrastructure.
- Design transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems or structures (as appropriate) using computer assisted design or drawing tools.
- Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data.
- Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact.
- Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for projects.
- Attend regularly scheduled public meetings (conducted by Municipal clients) in the capacity of Municipal Engineer, or Land Use Board Engineer.
- Prepare and present public reports on topics such as bid proposals, project status reports and developmental review projects.
- Provide technical advice to clients regarding design, construction, or capital program modifications.
- Support of the field activities of our construction inspection staff, including providing timely data, shop drawing review, and client coordination.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Municipal Engineering experience preferred but not required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make public presentations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions to present to co-workers and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of computer aided design software.
- Ability to work in groups as well as individually.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- PE License Required.
Salary Range
$92,000 - $151,800 Annually

About the Role
RVE (an Ardurra company) is seeking a Project Manager – Municipal Engineer to join our team in Secaucus, New Jersey. Municipal engineers design projects that improve the quality of life for those in the communities they serve. J.C. Remington, an early visionary in the industry, formed what is now RVE with the mission to deliver excellent client service by solving challenges faced by local municipalities. Over the last 120 years, we have we have served as Engineer of Record to Municipalities, Engineer and Planner to Municipalities and their Planning, Zoning and/or Land Use Boards, Board Consultant and Floodplain Manager. Our full-service staff provides the complete breadth and depth of consulting services including professional design, planning and construction services for infrastructure capital improvements; environmental remediation; utilities collection and distribution; treatment design; public facility additions and renovations; park and recreation improvements; redevelopment and master planning projects. Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of municipal engineering experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
