Project Manager, Mission Critical Construction

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Mission Critical team in Chicago, focusing on pricing and running data center construction projects nationwide. Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budgets.
• Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, discuss cost-reduction strategies, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts and fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure materials or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to budget or schedule.
• Collaborate with the Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes, project schedules, and site logistics plans.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings to address constructability, sequencing, and manpower issues.
• Conduct weekly or bi-weekly on-site OAC meetings to review progress and address challenges with the client.
• Track and manage project performance vs. budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.
• Ensure the construction process is fun for clients, subcontractors, and vendors while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (required).
• 2–5 years of construction management and/or estimating experience (required).
• Previous design/build project experience (strongly preferred).
• Previous experience leading data center or advanced manufacturing projects (strongly preferred).
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Pay

Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000 and $160,000. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. The role is also eligible for discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.
