About the Opportunity
Our client supports live hyperscale data center retrofit, modernization, and capacity expansion projects across one of the most active data center markets in the country. The Mission Critical Project Manager leads multidisciplinary construction projects from planning through closeout, managing internal teams, subcontractors, client communication, financial performance, and overall project execution.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of Mission Critical and Data Center construction Project Management experience
- Experience managing live data center construction or upgrade projects
- Direct, recent experience supporting AWS data center projects required (current/former AWS employee, or contractor who has worked inside AWS facilities)
- Demonstrated experience operating within a hyperscale environment's security, badging, safety, and operational procedures
- Experience managing live retrofit, modernization, or capacity expansion projects
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, client communication, and project financials
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships with facility stakeholders, engineering leads, and operations teams
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural construction trades
- Experience with BMS and EPMS systems construction, integration, and commissioning
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Ability to pass a background check
What You'll Do
- Lead mission critical construction and upgrade projects from planning through closeout
- Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors across BMS, EPMS, mechanical, electrical, and structural scopes
- Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting, financial performance, and overall execution
- Coordinate site surveys and project feasibility assessments
- Provide leadership and technical direction to Construction Managers and field teams
- Communicate project progress and schedule updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate RFIs, MOPs, submittals, site logistics, and as-built documentation
- Attend site visits, bid walks, and client meetings
- Support estimating efforts and bid submissions
- Maintain project documentation including schedules, daily logs, and reports
- Build strong client relationships and help identify opportunities for additional work
Nice to Have
- PMP Certification
- Familiarity with construction management software and project controls tools
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment

This is a 6-Month Contract-to-Hire position (direct hire may be considered for exceptional candidates) located in Northern Virginia, with some travel required and a competitive compensation package.
