Project Manager- Mining
Job Description
The Project Manager – Mining is a hands-on role that focuses on solving problems onsite at various mining client projects across Alaska. Role responsibilities include collaborating with in-office staff, clients, and contractors at the mine site(s). The Project Manager- Mining engages in all levels of project delivery, from client engagement, working collaboratively with stakeholders and technical experts in order to deliver innovative, technical, and value-added solutions within set schedules and budgets; development of budgets, schedules and reports; coordination of project staff and sub-contractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient, and timely completion of work in order to meet and/or exceed client expectation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
- Professional Engineering license or Project Management Professional certification is preferred
- 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally
- Strong skills in mining methods, engineering, and planning
- Credentials in project planning, scheduling, and execution
- Solid financial, commercial, and contractual acumen
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience managing medium to large teams
- Understanding of risk management and incident investigation principles
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
