We are a full-service mechanical contractor specializing in CAD and BIM services, commercial and industrial plumbing, process piping, and commercial HVAC systems. We build, renovate, and upgrade, as well as service, maintain, and operate facilities for a full spectrum of clients.
About the Role
Tucker Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for our Major Projects Group to assist the company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing and directing assigned commercial mechanical construction projects at various locations in Connecticut. The role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and with defined resources.
Responsibilities
- Prepare bids and job quotes for projects
- Manage construction projects and execute terms of project contracts
- Ensure a complete scope of work is defined
- Monitor project budgets and labor costs
- Monitor and prepare project schedules with milestone deadlines
- Review, analyze, and make recommendations on project change orders
- Estimate/price change orders as required
- Analyze plans and construction documents to confirm project requirements and opportunities for value engineering
- Prepare documents for billing purposes and coordinate with accounting personnel
- Review projects with President and CFO periodically and per request
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration
- Spend time on assigned job sites
- Prepare and manage communications with general contractors, owners, or construction managers
- Recommend methods and/or improvements based on project needs and resource capabilities
- Report and resolve employee concerns and/or grievances as needed
- Ensure job site employees maintain a safe work environment
- Attend and conduct meetings as required
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs
Requirements
- 5-7 years of construction work-related HVAC and Plumbing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Bluebeam Revu PDF editing
- COINs experience (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong time and detail management skills
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Organizational skills in handling and archiving technical data
- Ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers
Physical Demands

- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms
- Frequent use of office tools and equipment such as computers, calculators, and copy machines
- Regular mobility within the office and commuting between construction sites
- Ability to navigate around job site locations
Work Environment
- Regularly works in typical office environment conditions
- Frequently works at construction field sites when visiting field locations
