Project Manager, Libraries

Reporting to the Director, Project Management, this role oversees all aspects of project management, coordination, and implementation for Twist Bioscience’s gene mutant library and related businesses, including Site Variant Libraries (SVL) and Combinatorial Variant Libraries (CVL).

Responsibilities

• Manage communications required to facilitate library projects, including interactions with customers, international sales & support, Twist customer service, Twist legal, and the library business group. Key tasks involve handling non-disclosure agreements, library designs, customer quotes, purchase orders, and statements of work.
• Respond directly or route incoming inquiries from customers and the global sales & support organizations to the appropriate expertise within the Library Team. Ensure quick, professional responses using information provided by the Library Team and maintain records.
• Coordinate and collate detailed library design input from customers and/or global sales & support teams, ensuring designs meet customer needs and reflect the capabilities of the Library Fabrication Team.
• Work with the Library Project Manager and Library Fabrication Team(s) to gather costing for specific library designs as part of quote preparation.
• Prepare and distribute quotes for libraries and related business in collaboration with the Director of the Library Business and Library Project Manager. Maintain an up-to-date database of issued quotations.
• Collect, collate, and maintain an easily accessible database of NDAs, library quotes, library designs, orders, and shipments.
• Maintain a transparent, accessible list of library work-in-progress (WIP).
• Keep accurate, timely records in all systems to enable up-to-date reporting on quotes issued, orders placed, orders in progress, and orders shipped.
• Provide project progress updates to customers as agreed.
• Manage communication between customers and the internal team regarding order fulfillment details and deliverables.
• Possess general knowledge of library fabrication workflows.
• Handle any other ad hoc projects as required from time to time.
• Follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the life sciences or related field, with at least 2 years in a customer-facing role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related Life Science. Advanced degree and/or hands-on laboratory experience is a bonus.
• Experience with customer communication from inquiry to delivery of services.
• Understanding of service offerings and customer workflows that the services address.
• Proven ability to work effectively with customers, internal operations, and sales teams.
• Demonstrated track record of managing projects that meet customer expectations.
• Outstanding teamwork and communication skills.
• Hands-on, high-energy, positive attitude with a can-do approach.

This is not an IT-related role.

Pay

San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range: $99,000 - $132,000 USD. The base cash compensation is part of a total rewards package that includes bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation is determined by factors such as candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location.
