About the role

This is a Senior Project Manager position within a rapidly growing diversified general contractor focused on K12 and DSA education projects. The company offers an employee-owned model, excellent bonus structure, and a strong commitment to workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain a project schedule in collaboration with the project team, using lean principles as necessary.
  • Lead the on-boarding and contract negotiations with trade partners and third-party vendors, ensuring alignment with the project budget.
  • Coordinate BIM efforts and resolve conflicts with the Pre-construction team, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
  • Communicate project status to clients and company leadership through detailed reporting on budget, schedule, quality, safety, and changes.
  • Conduct weekly Open Access Committee (OAC) meetings and provide required reports and documentation to inform stakeholders about project status and potential issues.
  • Organize coordination meetings with all trades, vendors, and key personnel on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare monthly invoices and oversee all documentation and approvals to ensure timely funding and payments to trade partners and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the client, architect, and engineers to manage changes in scope, document impacts, and obtain owner approval.
  • Oversee inspections to prevent rework and close out projects through proper punch list protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the project superintendent, trade partners, and client to develop and enforce a project safety plan.
  • Verify that design documents meet contractual obligations and assist in partner/subcontractor/supplier selection.
  • Create project phasing plans with the project team and align with schedules and estimated costs.
  • Estimate change orders, pay applications, and provide technical assistance as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with preference for experience in LAUSD/DSA projects.
  • Proven leadership skills, including experience in team management, client relations, goal setting, and achievement.
  • Experience with estimating change orders, pay applications, and CPM scheduling and planning.

Qualifications

  • Internal motivation to grow the company and lead.
  • Experience with Cost + and negotiated work, MS Project, and Pro-Core.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software.
