Salary range: $98,575 – $154,030 (Grade 17). Shift schedule: 4×10.

About the role

This position plans projects from inception through closeout, including scope definition, schedule and cost development, resource identification, risk assessment, and team coordination. The role also oversees facility modifications, safety-authorization changes, tool/equipment design and fabrication, procedure revisions, training, readiness reviews, and project closeout activities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and secure approval of project scope in contracts and task orders.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls to develop project schedules and with Estimating to create cost estimates.
  • Identify resources, costs, assumptions, exclusions, and risks for each project.
  • Assist in selecting and coordinating the project team.
  • Manage project execution through to closeout.
  • Coordinate safety-authorization basis changes and all aspects of facility modifications.
  • Oversee design and fabrication of tools and equipment.
  • Work with operations to develop or revise procedures, coordinate training, and conduct equipment dry runs.
  • Coordinate and track readiness-review development and completion.
  • Schedule loading/unloading and storage of UNF with operations.
  • Follow project closeout processes for equipment and records disposition.
  • Apply advanced concepts and techniques to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
  • Provide leadership and consultation to coworkers and evaluate progress to recommend major project changes.
  • Act independently to resolve problems and represent the organization in communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure contributions align with company objectives and milestones through successful project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of directly relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience in engineering with strong knowledge of construction principles.
  • Experience leading work activities in compliance with DOE Orders, federal, state, and local regulations, and Work for Others (WFO) contracts.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to work effectively with DOE customers and other federal agencies.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to national-security work at the Idaho National Laboratory Site.
  • REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or equivalent state-issued photo ID required for facility access (e.g., passport, EDL, DHS trusted traveler card, DoD ID, permanent resident card, or Tribal-issued ID). Temporary driver’s licenses are not accepted.
