About the role
The Project Manager III works with Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Management departments to respond to RFQs and implement the overall documentation requirements of the Project Management office. This position is responsible for leading cross-functional projects with a high degree of complexity, ensuring requirements are established and met, deliverables are completed, and projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The Project Manager will oversee multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities
- Establish scope and detailed requirements for projects, including facilitating requirements gathering sessions with key stakeholders, documenting requirements, and managing them throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and manage issues, risks, and changes.
- Communicate and follow up regularly with team members to ensure tasks are completed according to plans.
- Develop project plans for schedule, resources, and budget.
- Collaborate with resource managers, lead team members, Finance, and executives.
- Monitor and track progress against plans.
- Report status to project stakeholders through formal (e.g., monthly status reports, bi-weekly snapshot reports) and informal (e.g., ad-hoc requests, email) communication methods.
- Create regular status reports.
- Actively engage in continuous improvement of the organization’s project management processes and standards.
- Monitor actual project hours and costs against estimates and budget.
- Establish specific project files within the job order file, structuring them according to the Control Document Procedure.
- Utilize Project Management tools provided by the Sales Project Engineer and follow the Document Control Procedure for issuing and changing documents.
- Attend kickoff meetings for project-specific jobs.
- Research new components or non-standard items and provide information to the Engineering Manager for determination of use.
- Conduct review meetings with management, purchasing, production, and other departments to discuss project status and requirements.
- Provide engineering assistance to all departments regarding interpretation of drawings and system operations.
- Implement customer documents, reviews, comments, and redlines.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA desired.
- 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience and project implementation.
- Experience with distributed project teams.
- Excellent prioritization and organization skills, especially managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to varied audiences.
- Ability to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- PMP, CAPM, or related certifications desired.
Schedule
- FLSA status: Exempt, Salaried.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
