Plan, Implement, and Oversee Execution
Plan, implement, and oversee execution of all projects to deliver intended business outcomes that add value to the business, be on time, within scope, and within budget according to agreed-upon business priorities.
Facilitate appropriate tradeoffs with project sponsors, executives, and teams to mitigate or address any project issues or risks related to scope, schedule, quality, or resources throughout the lifecycle of a project while simultaneously identifying project resources needed throughout the project and working with resource owners to secure those resources.
Training and Mentorship
Lead efforts to train/mentor other colleagues on project management methodologies, System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, and in execution of Resource Management & Capacity Planning practices.
Advanced Knowledge and Collaboration
Drive tasks to completion and organize work to ensure projects and/or project phases managed adhere to appropriate project management methodology and established Technology Standards.
Keep Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documents current and processes executed per the SDLC requirements.
Develop and maintain a project Business Case, Budget, and conduct financial analyses as needed.
Lead elicitation, documentation, and management of project risks and issues.
Identify, document, and track (both before and after project completion) project-specific Measures of Success, e.g., timely delivery, project benefits, operational metrics, etc.
Assemble and maintain clear, concise, and accurate project documentation.
Facilitate transition of project deliverables to relevant technical and operational support teams.
Conduct post-project lessons learned analysis as appropriate.
Regular Updates and Communication
Regularly update project stakeholders, customers, and team members of project status, including project health assessments, key issues and risks, project milestones, financial/budget reporting, etc.
Leadership and Collaboration
Lead efforts to train/mentor other colleagues on project management methodologies, SDLC best practices, and in project Investment Management, Resource Management, and Capacity Planning practices.
Work collaboratively throughout the enterprise with key project roles including project team members, resource managers, business leads/product owners, technical leads, business analysts, stakeholders, sponsors, and externally with vendors and Customers (i.e., Employers and insureds).
Communicate clearly and promptly with these groups.
Project Management and Portfolio Management
Drive execution of:
- Project identification and intake
- Budget creation, variance reporting, and management
- Risk and issue management
- Project prioritization
- Project portfolio management
- Project Investment Management, Resource Management & Capacity Planning
- Business Plan and Business case development and management (ensuring strategic alignment)
- Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool usage
Adhere to appropriate project management methodology and Technology Standards.
