Job Summary

Project Managers are Dennis Group’s primary client contacts throughout the project delivery process, managing projects from design concept through construction and start-up. They oversee industrial food and beverage process facilities, interacting closely with design/architect teams, engineering teams, and construction teams.

Responsibilities

  • Works autonomously on specific tasks
  • Manages projects from planning through commissioning
  • Develops key success criteria for each project
  • Aids in the development of project scope, budget, schedule, and critical path elements
  • Prepares RFIs
  • Prepares purchase/work authorization
  • Maintains client SharePoint site
  • Manages in-house and consulting design teamwork
  • Establishes design criteria; reviews design and construction phase documents
  • Manages permit, code, and regulatory approvals
  • Develops preliminary procurement plan
  • Defines kick-off meeting agenda
  • Determines project definition deliverables
  • Captures and manages project communication
  • Develops project outline specifications
  • Develops conceptual layout
  • Develops medium engineering services proposals
  • Manages bid process
  • Maintains “Outstanding Items Needs” list
  • Maintains Project Meeting notes
  • Develops and implements lessons learned for project
  • Develops and issues monthly reports
  • Determines project permitting needs
  • Updates project forecasting tool monthly
  • Reviews and approves engineering deliverables
  • Develops preliminary construction cost estimates
  • Defines project assumptions/exclusions
  • Reviews and approves monthly supplier invoices and client billing
  • Develops and maintains submittal and RFI processes
  • Develops preliminary PM/Eng/CM/Start-up support cost estimate
  • Facilitates and manages food safety risk assessments
  • Organizes construction trades and administers subcontracts
  • Manages project budget and expense approvals
  • Administers contract and change order administration
  • Supervises equipment installations
  • Provides on-site supervision and coordinates design team on-site support activities
  • Facilitates project interactive planning sessions
  • Refines and updates budget forecast
  • Finalizes procurement plan
  • Manages project punch-list inspection
  • Assembles and maintains complete project records and close-out documents
  • Facilitates and manages client and third-party design reviews
  • Interfaces with client, works in client facilities and construction sites
  • Utilizes multiple software programs (MS Office, CAD, Navisworks, MS Project, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Supports talent growth within our organization

Required Education & Experience

  • Degree in Construction Management / Architecture / Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience within a design-build, General Contractor company working with multiple in-house engineer disciplines, architects, designers, etc.
  • 4+ years of experience with MEP industrial construction projects, preferably food and beverage or pharmaceutical projects
  • 4+ years of experience with Building construction, Project scheduling, Construction estimating, and Construction Safety
  • 4+ years as a Project Manager with proven track record of successful project management and demonstrated success delivering numerous projects delivered on time, meeting requirements, with high team satisfaction
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and other design software
  • Familiarity with sanitary environments is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Standing and walking the jobsite over rough terrain can be expected
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Travel Requirement

  • Not less than 50% overnight travel annually
