Project Manager II
About the Role
The Project Manager II plans, directs, manages, and provides oversight of assigned design and survey projects to ensure that Company goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. This position leads teams to deliver projects spanning one or more business units, managing resources, schedules, financials, and adhering to quality and control guidelines throughout the full development life cycle. Responsibilities include managing issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery, as well as contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement, including planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
- Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature project management capabilities for the organization.
- Provide on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones.
- Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project.
- Manage multiple related projects to ensure alignment with and support of strategic objectives.
- Develop and deliver status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership.
- Assist in dispute resolution, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, and dependencies, and participate in quality issue resolution.
- Ensure projects and programs proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Monitor staff performance, complete performance reviews, delegate tasks, and supervise project teams.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program teams.
- Continue professional development to stay current with emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.
- Manage and maintain existing and newly assigned customer relationships.
- Perform required business processes in Workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of management.
- Experience successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule, and within-budget completion.
- Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending budget changes.
- Technical proficiency with software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD).
- Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding teams accountable for performance.
- Team-building skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Flexibility with proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Mental Demands
- Concentrate, conceptualize, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Perform detailed work, handle frequent task changes, and adapt to an irregular schedule as needed.

Schedule
Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The specific schedule for this role will be based on location and department.
Must be authorized to work in the United States. Travel to worksites may be required.
