About the role
This role is key in promoting and adhering to the organization’s Project Management Methodology, including communication and management of tasks for all phases of the Project Lifecycle. The position resides in the Project Management Office within the Department of Enterprise Technology (DET) and reports to the Manager of the PMO.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage multiple complex enterprise projects in parallel and with multiple dependencies.
- Plan, direct, and implement complex projects on time, within budget, and with desired functionality and outcomes.
- Provide project status, reports, performance metrics, and other deliverables at each stage of a defined project management methodology to the PMO Manager and other DET management.
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Support business and project management staff.
- Manage PMO operational activities, ensuring current, accurate, and quality project information across the portfolio.
- Identify and manage portfolio risks.
- Use influence to eliminate bottlenecks and potential resource alignment problems.
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
- Manage stakeholders and stakeholder expectations.
- Build strong project teams across multiple divisions.
- Provide excellent service (internal and external to DET).
- Effectively manage vendor relationships in accordance with client strategies and directives.
- Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and support the PMO and DET peers and leadership.
- Support the advancement of the PMO’s mission.
- Support Portfolio Management that provides a forward-looking picture of project work.
- Continuously improve the Project Methodology.
- Provide input into Project Management Best Practices.
- Educate Project Management customers and stakeholders on PMO processes and tools.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of Project Management knowledge and experience.
- Solid organization skills.
- Effective communication.
- Leadership experience with stakeholders.

Schedule
This is a remote position. All remote work must be done within the state of Wisconsin. Candidates must be a WI resident or willing to relocate prior to starting the role at own expense.
