About the Role

The Project Manager II is a senior project management position responsible for overseeing projects from planning through completion and ensuring client satisfaction by delivering unparalleled service. The role provides overall project management support to two to four concurrent projects of small‑to‑medium crew size or one to two concurrent projects of large crew size, and includes mentoring and training of other staff.

Responsibilities

• May train and provide direction to Project Assistant and/or Project Manager I in maintaining project‑required tracking devices.
• Plan and organize a project under the direction of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
• Participate in the supervision and training of Project Assistants and/or Project Manager I.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines.
• Negotiate terms and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project.
• Liaise with primary client and architect/engineer to facilitate construction activities.
• Support construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure schedule and budget compliance.
• Anticipate, prevent, and resolve potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
• Represent the company in project meetings.
• Direct the preparation of all change quotations for presentation to the prime client and negotiate them to a successful conclusion.
• Prepare monthly costing reports under supervision of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interest and maintain client relationships.
• May assist with the development of new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a project management role.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and Oracle.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests and changing priorities.

• Travel up to 25 %.

Working Conditions

The Sr. Project Manager may work on active construction sites or in an office. The environment includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is primarily indoors with varying conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning; noise levels range from low to medium, occasionally loud on a job site. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lb may be required.
