About the role
The Project Manager II oversees one or more projects of a highly complex nature. Responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects and meeting deadlines. Familiar with the project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
Responsibilities

- Identify appropriate resources needed for project execution
- Develop and maintain schedules to ensure timely project completion
- Manage project scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communications, risk, and procurement
- Apply working knowledge of Acquisition program plans consistent with policies, requirements, and direction
- Analyze interrelated issues and develop recommendations to solve problems
- Coordinate activities and schedules with internal and external organizations and customers to guide program accomplishment through phases of the acquisition cycle
- Establish management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, metrics, and management reviews to reflect Acquisition program status and provide early detection of problems
- Recommend tradeoffs to cost, schedule, and performance
- Apply industry best practices to program guidance, planning, and solutions
- Prepare and track status of Acquisition program-related documents submitted for review/approval by Command authority
- Access and support program information in government-provided portfolio management tools
- Build acquisition schedules in Microsoft Project, including internal tasks, durations, task flows, interdependencies, major milestones, and key events
- Produce and/or review all Acquisition program documentation as specified in the Integrated Defense Acquisition, Technology, & Logistics Life Cycle Management Framework, including Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
- Track and monitor acquisition documents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years’ experience in project management
- Must be a US Citizen with a DoD Secret, or higher, clearance determination
