Project Manager II

The Project Manager II is responsible for the leadership of cross-functional projects with a high degree of complexity, ensuring requirements are established and met, deliverables are completed and reviewed, and projects are completed on schedule and within budget. This role manages multiple projects concurrently and is fully knowledgeable of best practices in project management.
Responsibilities
- Establish scope and detailed requirements for projects, including facilitating requirements gathering sessions with key stakeholders, documenting requirements, and managing them through the project lifecycle.
- Identify and manage issues, risks, and changes.
- Communicate and follow up regularly with team members to ensure tasks are completed according to plans.
- Develop project plans for schedule, resources, and budget, collaborating with resource managers, lead team members, Finance, and executives.
- Monitor and track progress against plans, reporting status to stakeholders through formal (e.g., monthly status reports, bi-weekly snapshot reports) and informal methods (e.g., ad-hoc requests, email).
- Create regular status reports and communicate effectively with project team members, management, and stakeholders on status, issues, risks, and project goals.
- Actively engage in continuous improvement of the organization’s project management processes and standards.
- Monitor actual project hours and costs against estimates and budget, reporting on project budget.
- Establish specific project files within the job order file, structuring them according to the Control Document Procedure.
- Utilize Project Management tools provided by the Sales Project Engineer, filling in data as required and following the Document Control Procedure.
- Attend kickoff meetings for project-specific jobs.
- Research new components or items needed for projects that are not Compass standards and provide information to the Engineering Manager for determination of use.
- Conduct review meetings with Compass management, purchasing, production, and other departments to discuss project status and requirements.
- Provide engineering assistance to all departments regarding interpretation of drawings and operation of Compass systems.
- Implement customer documents, review comments, and draw redlines.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical, chemical, electrical, or industrial) or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated project management experience and project implementation.
- Experience with distributed project teams.
- Excellent prioritization and organization skills, especially managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all staff levels and with clients.
- Able to work extended hours when needed to meet project deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with D365.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-effort, dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA desired.
- PMI certification strongly preferred.
- Preferred experience in Water and Oil & Gas industries.

The role involves concentrated mental and/or visual attention, performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods. The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance. Pay
USD $100,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 per year.
