About the role

The Project Manager I position has single point accountability or can be under general direction of a Project Director or Senior PM. This role is responsible for management, or assisting management, of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors are met, including but not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration.

The position is typically assigned a portfolio of "White" or "Green" ranked projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Risk-Informed Project Ranking Process. Higher ranked projects with greater risk may also be assigned when accompanied with an Enhanced Support and Oversight Plan (ESOP). The role is accountable for a portfolio of assigned projects with Low to Moderate levels of risk that impact various levels of the Company, Senior Management, or External Agencies.

Project Manager I's may be assigned projects with specific risk-informed requirements based on specific experience and skill sets. They serve as unifying agents providing leadership, decision making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of overall projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the Company.

Responsibilities

• Manage or assist in managing all phases of project planning and execution.
• Ensure project success factors are met, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration.
• Lead and coordinate projects with Low to Moderate levels of risk.
• Provide leadership, decision-making, and guidance to project teams.
• Facilitate meetings, present information, and provide direction to others.
• Oversee construction quality management and field construction execution.
• Utilize project management software such as Primavera P6, Maximo, and/or PowerPlan.

Requirements

• Associates degree AND 2 years minimum required related work experience, or
• High school/GED AND 5 years minimum required related work experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Technology (desired).
• Construction and/or Outage Management work experience.
• Work experience in a Project Management role.
• Previous experience leading a team, including craft construction workers, to develop and implement projects.
• Safety leadership experience and project construction safety oversight and improvement.
• Experience working in a lead role, interacting with multiple levels of management.
• Demonstrated written and oral communications skills.
• Utility or Petro-Chemical Industry experience (desired).
• Experience with field construction execution, oversight, productivity, and methods.
• Estimating experience.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6, Maximo, and/or PowerPlan software.

Skills

• Utility Technical Certifications/Training (desired).
• PMP or CAPM Certification (desired).
• CMII/Construction Certifications (desired).
• Professional Engineer License (desired).

Schedule

• Travel Requirements: 5-15%
