About the role
As a Project Manager I, you will oversee the entire lifespan of projects within the Building Automation/Temperature Controls business division, with assistance from a Construction Manager or Senior Project Manager. You will coordinate planning, design, procurement of equipment, and workforce allocation to ensure timely, efficient, and economical project execution while adhering to customer specifications and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Gather and maintain equipment submittals and other project documents as required.
- Ensure all project contract documentation is up to date and accurate, including scope, plans, specifications, and related documents.
- Analyze job reports using company reporting tools.
- Recognize changes to scope, scheduling, and job site factors impacting productivity and profitability.
- Monitor costs incurred on assigned projects and notify management when costs exceed estimates.
- Identify when additional work or schedule changes affect workforce resources or job cost.
- Complete projects according to proposal, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and customer expectations by managing contractual obligations.
- Provide engineering with necessary information to prepare submittals and installation drawings.
- Order equipment based on approved submittals to meet installation requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules using MS Project or other approved platforms and submit them to relevant stakeholders.
- Review financial performance of specific jobs and participate in work-in-progress meetings.
- Schedule personnel, equipment, subcontracting, and materials to meet project requirements within estimated costs.
- Travel to job sites and customer locations for inspections and visits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4 years of construction management degree preferred, OR a 2-year technical degree with 2 years of temperature controls experience, OR 5 years of Commercial HVAC project management, OR 6 years of temperature controls experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarms, smoke removal systems, engineering, installation, management, and construction procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Availability for after-hour consultation and problem-solving as necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Projects).
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification in project management is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling.
- Lifting up to 25 lbs. from floor to countertop and vice versa.
- Climbing ladders and working at heights.

Pay
$80,949 - $113,413 plus commission.
