About the role
Plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout the project life cycle. Responsible for the day-to-day management of programs and projects.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Builds, develops, and grows internal relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Coordinates project post-mortems and creates a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Coordinates the estimation of resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Develops project plans and associated communications documents.
- Directs and manages project development from beginning to end.
- Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Acts as liaison with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.
- Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Tracks project milestones and deliverables. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.
- Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate.
- Participates in meetings, serves on committees, and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
- Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.
- Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
- Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identifies and resolves issues within the project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 1-2 years (2 years preferred) of work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is encouraged within 2 years.
Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, motivate, and control resources to achieve specific goals under the constraints of project scope, time, quality, and budget.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction; develops own plan for how to accomplish tasks and follows through to completion.
- Ability to operate under the pressures of project management associated with tight deadlines and schedules.
Pay
This position has a hiring range of USD $71,843.00 - USD $135,907.00 per year.
